Hello
I’ve been running since 1980 — and coaching others to run better, faster, and stronger since 1994.
My journey started with cross country (X-Country) as a youngster, which ignited a lifelong passion for endurance sports. I became a certified X-country, middle- and long-distance coach in 1992, and have spent more than three decades refining my approach and helping athletes unlock their full potential.
Over the years, I’ve coached a wide variety of sports including javelin, cricket, rugby, and high jump — with the privilege of mentoring a number of South African champions along the way.
I joined Alpha Centurion Athletics Club in 1997 and that same year, I ran my first 21 km, marathon, ultra marathon, and Comrades (finishing in 9:52). Since then, I’ve brought my personal bests down to 40 minutes for 10 km, 90 minutes for the half marathon, and 3:15 for the full.
To date, I’ve completed over:
-
400 half marathons (21.1 km)
-
50 to 60 marathons and ultras
Beyond road running, I’ve also competed in Adventure Racing between 2000 and 2010, and I’ve been an active mountain biker since 2000, completing multiple multi-stage MTB events.
Whether you're training for your very first race or chasing a personal best, I bring both experience and empathy to every coaching relationship. Helping others achieve their potential isn’t just a tagline — it’s been my mission since 1994.
